About the event

The Afro Future STEM Mentorship (Afro Future SM) program is a new initiative from the National Society of Black Engineers' McMaster Chapter (NSBE Mac). Mentors studying in STEM fields at McMaster University will be paired with high school student mentees.

Becoming a mentee is open to grade 11 or 12 Black-identifying students in the Greater Hamilton and Toronto Area. You can expect to have continued online communication with your mentor on our platform. You will be able to ask for advice, have some of your questions answered about post-secondary, join homework help sessions, and more! We will also be hosting events monthly at McMaster, which are optional, but will focus on developing professional skills and having fun!
